Love Remains Holy Week

DAY 8 OF 8

“He is not here, he is risen!”

These words, spoken by an angel thousands of years ago, are words echoed across the globe still today. They are the reminder that love remains:

Love that enters into the mess of life;

Love that disrupts the everyday so we might experience God;

Love that serves and cares for others;

Love that sacrifices to give what can’t be earned;

Love that endures for freedom;

Love that surrenders in order to give life;

Love that is present even in our darkest hours;

Love that remains.

The love shown through the death and resurrection is one that remains and is always available. It ushered in a new way of life for people who would receive it, and it’s available for you today.

This love that Jesus expressed is the same love that moves in us—the church—today. His sacrifice, his endurance, his surrender was always meant to be the beginning of a movement, not the end of one.

We end on Easter the way we began on Palm Sunday—in celebration! Except this time, everything is new! Our hope endures; our faith is strengthened and love remains. This is good news.

Read Mark 16:1-16 again, and ask what is God saying to you in this season?

About this Plan

Love Remains Holy Week

It’s hard to imagine what Jesus was thinking and feeling in the days leading to cross, but one thing we do know—his trust and assurance in the goodness and faithful love of God. Take a journey this Holy Week through the gospels, walk with Jesus, ask God a simple question, and encounter the vast love of God.
