Nobody Kneels in Prayer Anymore | the Posture of Prayer

DAY 4 OF 5

When we kneel with God in prayer, we ask for help. Jesus asked God for help! Why would we think for a moment that we couldn't do the same?

In baptism, we are submerged and it represents leaving some things behind in the waters of redemption. Just as Jesus needed strengthening, we need strengthening. We experience newness of life extended through the sacrifice of Jesus. What are you believing God for that you need to bring to him for help? We need to believe God can and will help us.  We need to ask.

Jesus himself prayed for the removal of the cup that was intended for Him. We don’t need to ask for our circumstances only to change, but for God to do something transformation within us.

There is a great possibility that God wants to strengthen and transform us in the midst of our circumstances, that causes us to look more like Christ. We must win some battles on our knees, so that we can win some battles later. God wants to empower us and grace us, transforming us to look more like Christ. He wants to change us in the midst of this surrendering and do something eternal within us.

QUESTIONS

What are you believing for that you need to bring to God for help?

In this Lent season make a decision, along with millions of other Christians across the globe, to leave some things behind. What do you want to “lay down” and surrender to God?
