Who Is Jesus to You?
I have a question for you: Who is Jesus to you, and where does He fit in your life? This is the most important question you will ever answer. And no one else can answer it for you.
When you hear the name of Jesus, what comes to mind? Or to put it another way, who do you say Jesus is? In your heart of hearts, do you question whether the stories in the Bible are all myths? If Jesus did exist, was He just a man? Was He a prophet? A great teacher?
Or was He something more?
Your answer is critical. Your eternal soul depends on it.
Most people want to avoid the question. Sure, they might believe Jesus was an actual person, but if pressed to answer who He really was, defenses go up. Through a chuckle or a shrug, they say, “I don’t know.” They put Him in the miscellaneous box. I think at the core of this response is the possibility that Jesus really is the Son of God. If He is, it changes everything.
He said that He came to save the world from sin (John 3:16-17). For many, He evokes a sense of shame, of anger, or of feeling overwhelmed. If you pull up a YouTube video or a popular blog post about Jesus, you’re likely to find an ocean of comments about the delusion of Him and His followers. Sometimes I peruse those comment threads just to see the status of people’s hearts. It blows me away how many people hate Christians and hate Jesus, the Christ.
Some label Him as a fraud.
Others say He was simply a good person.
To answer the question of who Jesus really is, you must be hungry for the truth about Him and about yourself and be willing to follow that truth. If He is who He claimed to be, you can’t afford to deal with it later.
So, who is Jesus to you?
