90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for Womenಮಾದರಿ
It is my sincerest hope you have made the decision to finally confess to someone and have made plans to meet with your person of choice in the days to come. But now that you have, maybe you’re wondering how to say the words. Maybe you’re wondering what might sound less… dirty. Maybe you’re thinking, “Is it okay to just say I struggle with sexual sin? Do I have to actually say [fill in the blank]?”
My counter to that kind of questioning is to ask yourself why you are reluctant to speak the entire truth? Does not saying [fill in the blank] change what your struggle is? No. Does saying [fill in the blank] provide full disclosure and bring your sin into the light? Absolutely.
Ultimately, you have to come to that decision on your own through prayer. Don’t overcomplicate your confession. Speak the words you never thought you would hear yourself utter to another person face-to-face. Speak from the heart that’s been in hiding. Remember, it’s not really a confession if it’s mixed with half-truth and justification.
What are you reluctant to say in your confession and why? How does omitting it change your confession? Ask God to provide you with the courage to speak “what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure...” as according to Philippians 4:8.
