Book of 2 Timothyಮಾದರಿ
BEWARE IN THE END OF TIMES
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3)
We are in the last days and have been since the resurrection of Jesus. Some people become afraid and try to avoid conversations about the end times. How about you?
The topic of the end times should be something that excites us as believers because the end of the world is not scary. Instead, it is very encouraging news. It means that the time for the coming of Jesus Christ is very near.
Indeed, there will be events that we need to pay attention to before the second coming of Lord Jesus. Paul warns us to live cautiously because there will be many misleading teachings in this world and warns us to not be carried away by the misleading currents. What we hear may sound spiritual, but there may be some things that are hidden that could eventually drive us away from the truth. This is why we have to know God's truth.
The devil will show his nature like a cunning snake through media and other things to entrap us. Here, the devil can disguise himself as an angel of light, which means that he can use people who use a ‘spiritual mask’ to mislead God's people. This is where we need to be vigilant. These people could use the excuse of love to lead us to compromising sins or other abominations.
Let us have solid yet useful food that we pursue to gain more holiness and righteousness in our lives. Sometimes Christians refuse sermons that seem to give them a warning or a rebuke because this warning disturbs their comfort zone. This is especially true if that sermon exposes behavior, hidden wickedness, or agreements to do evil things. If God reprimands or exposes us through that sermon, so be it. It just means that God loves us and wants us to repent and live righteously for Him.
Food is not always soft. Sometimes food is hard to chew, but it is useful and builds us up.
