The Gospel of Markಮಾದರಿ
Mark continued to answer the question of who Jesus is throughout his Gospel account. The event of Jesus’ transfiguration was a remarkably personal event. Jesus didn’t even allow all twelve of His disciples to witness it, only Peter, James, and John. Afterward, He commanded them not to tell anyone what they had seen until the appointed time.
Thankfully, we are now able to read about and understand (at least somewhat) this event. God the Father confirmed Jesus’ identity on the mountain. He confirmed Jesus is His only Son, who was sent for the divine purpose of paying the price for sin. What a privilege it must have been for Peter, James, and John to witness this moment.
Today, because this incredible event was written down, we can know with certainty who Jesus is: The Son of God. As we grow in our faith we can be confident of His deity. He is not a prophet who performed miracles. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all life. He is the One who saves us from death. He is the Son of God. He deserves the highest honor, allegiance, and praise.
Lord, I often lose sight of Your holiness. Help me see Your glory. Give me a deeper desire to follow You, honor You, and praise You for who You are. Amen.

About this Plan
The Gospel of Mark is a powerful account of the life of Jesus. It displays the character of Jesus on every page, from His willingness to suffer and serve to His power and deity miraculously displayed. With every scene the author asks, “Where is your faith?” As we read and study the Gospel of Mark we can’t help but answer this important question.
