Every Step Of The Way: A 3-Day Devotional with Cade Thompsonಮಾದರಿ
DAY 2 - FINDING PEACE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT
Have you ever heard this phrase? “God has you where you are, for a reason.” As simple, and tough, as that might sound, it’s true. We live in a culture that’s extremely fast-paced, always looking for the next best thing, and continually searching for something greater. I believe the “something greater” we all want is found in JESUS.
Everything we do and think is the fruit of our relationship with Jesus. When we are content in that relationship you can see it in our lives. Look at what scripture says:
John 15:4, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me."
My music journey as a Christian recording artist started small. It was usually me with a guitar, a microphone and a youth group audience. Sometimes I sang for twenty or more people, but there were also times I sang for an audience of one. It didn’t matter how big the audience was, I did what I was called to do, and the message never changed.
Many times I get asked the question, “How can I be like you and do music?” I always try to encourage others to focus where they are planted, and let God do the rest.
If you are wondering what the future holds for you, my encouragement is to stay connected to God, stay faithful to what you are called to do, invest in your community, and wait patiently as you watch and see what God does in your life!
REFLECTION
- Start your day in quiet time with God. Spend time just enjoying being in his presence.
- Then ask Jesus, “Who can I impact in my community today?”
PRAYER
“God, I thank you that I find peace when I truly abide in your presence. I ask that you fill me up today with long-lasting peace that only comes from you. In the moments where I begin to compare my life to others, remind me that my worth is only found in you. AMEN.”
