Release of the Spiritಮಾದರಿ
“Release of The Spirit” by Bryan Craig
DAY FIVE
Scripture:
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
Thought:
Did you know that we are all terminally ill? These bodies and this life has an end date. Psalm 139:16 says there are a certain number of days ordained for me. This strikes fear in most of us, and we don’t like to think about it. God wants us to have an eternal perspective. He does not want us to fear.
So, in His grace and mercy and love, He allows us to feel our mortality. He allows trouble into our lives which challenges us in the core of our beings. He is prying our fingers off the controls. When we let go and start looking to Him for comfort and answers, He renews us from the inside out. We realize that we are destined for much more than this life.
Application:
Does eternity scare you? Are you living only for this life and trying to maximize your enjoyment of it? Do you understand that God gave you an eternal spirit and soul that will exist long after this life?
Place your faith and your fears into the hands of God. Write a prayer of surrender in your journal. Consider once again any areas of pain in your life, for they are markers of God’s work in your life. Ask God to renew you, spirit, soul, and body, so you can run your race with perseverance and feel His pleasure.
Response:
What will you do differently today as an act of obedience to your new revelations of wisdom? Write it down in your journal. Tell your spouse or a close friend about it.
Try spending a day without clinging to your schedule, your smartphone, your TV, or the gym. Try spending a day, where you ask the Lord to guide your day. See if He gives you some detours from your normal schedule.
Write about it in your journal.

About this Plan
Have you ever thought about that inner part of man, described as the “soul” or the “spirit”? In “The Release of the Spirit,” Watchman Nee lends insight to the three distinctive parts of man. Over the next five days we will explore the scriptures and contemplate the relationship between the mortal and eternal parts of our being… our “Outermost Man,” “Outer Man” and “Inner Man”.
