Through the Bible: Genesisಮಾದರಿ
The Lord is With Us
The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.
Genesis 39:2
But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
Genesis 39:21
When we read about Joseph’s life, we cannot help but see the favour of God evident in all his dealings. Potiphar and the prison keeper prospered because of Joseph. Not only that, both Potiphar and Pharaoh could see the presence of God in Joseph’s life.
We also see the lows in Joseph’s life – he was hated by his brothers and sold into slavery. He was also wrongly accused and put in prison, and he was forgotten by the chief cupbearer. Joseph endured 13 years of pain, despair and hopelessness before he came to that place of honour bestowed by Pharaoh. How was he able to persevere through those dark moments?
Four times in Chapter 39, it says that “the Lord was with Joseph” (verses 2-3, 21-23). We see that God was with Joseph in his difficult circumstances, working out His purpose for His good and His glory. Joseph also trusted God and had a pure heart which kept him from sinning against the Lord. Because Joseph honoured God, God honoured him. God promises to guide those who honour and depend on Him completely in everything they do (Prov. 3:5-7).
Prayer:
Father God, thank You that You are always with us. May Your favour be upon us so that we can bring blessing to the people we serve and they too can see Your presence in our lives and be drawn to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

About this Plan
Everyone has an origin. It explains why we are here, and who we really are. But what about the origin of mankind? The answer lies in the book of Genesis, which means “in the beginning”. The book will help us understand the beginning of creation, the fall of mankind and unfolds God’s redemptive plan for humanity. Please join us as we journey Through The Bible starting with Genesis.
