The Bible for All: How to Pray for Bible Translationಮಾದರಿ
A Family That Prays Together Stays Together
When we begin a wonderful thing for God’s glory, nothing is more disappointing than when it fades out. Praying for everyone on earth to have the Bible in their language is no different. Prayer takes perseverance and discipline—two words that everyone struggles with. How are you doing with your prayer habits we have learned so far? Some are sticking. Some are probably not.
But guess what? God never meant for you to pray alone.
The Christ follower’s prayer is radically different than the prayer of the religions of man. One major difference is that when we pray to the triune God of the Bible, we are entering into an eternal conversation between the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (John 17:5, Hebrews 9:14). Jesus never prayed alone. We never pray alone. In fact, as we read in Matthew 18:19, an answer to our prayers is guaranteed when we pray with others. If you look closely enough, prayer throughout the entire Bible is a community effort. From the tabernacle of Moses to Solomon’s temple to the homes of the apostles in the book of Acts, the people of the Bible prayed together as a spiritual family.
This hasn’t changed for the followers of Christ today.
God has a prayer family for you. It may be your biological family, it may be a spiritual family, or it may be a bit of both. Our heavenly Father is a “family man.” You are not alone—either in the heavenly places or here on earth.
Prayer habit #5: Pray with others.
For this final day of our devotional time together, ask the LORD God to begin to speak to you about who can be in your prayer “family.” Start small. Begin with someone in your physical family like your spouse or maybe a friend. It just takes two. Find a weekly rhythm of when to pray together, and decide for how long. Start praying together for just 5 minutes. Pray for each other, and then change the world together by praying for ZERO. Pray for the number of 2,000+ people groups without one verse of the Bible to be brought down to ZERO by 2030. Visit the link below to access a prayer resource for each of the five habits in this devotional.
Thank you for sharing your time with us. May God work in and through your heart in the most life-changing ways! It is an honor to link arms together to reach every remaining person still waiting on God’s message of love revealed through the Scriptures!
