Blooming Wonderful

DAY 4 OF 7

Life in Abundance

Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by. I am doing something new. It’s springing up. Can’t you see it? I am making a road in the desert, rivers in the wasteland. – Isaiah 43:18-19, CJB

Like spring flowers in full bloom in a bountiful garden, the abundant life is ready for the picking. It is true, however, that many of life’s most colorful opportunities are hidden and we have to seek them out. Largely, life is really a Monday-to-Monday cycle of activities that have to be accomplished every week to keep the wheels of home, work, and leisure time turning. The various seasons in our lives call for flexibility, and a willingness to listen, to learn, and to change. Some circumstances cause us to mature quicker than others, and challenges never seem to be in short supply.

Through the intriguing tapestry of life, there is so much to be thankful for. When God created Earth, certainly barrenness and boring were not going to mar His thoughtful creation. Think of the animal kingdom. There are many varieties of wildlife—adorable domestic animals created for our enjoyment and agricultural breeds created for man’s consumption. All of them have a purposeful place on the globe. How about the variety of different grasses, herbs, and teas? The ocean is alive in a world of its own. The outer galaxies and space—well, that is another mystery altogether. We are on the same planet, but somehow, we forget to look at the mystery above us, the beauty that surrounds, and the feel of cool, fresh grass beneath our bare feet.

Jesus made it distinctly clear in John 10:10 that we do have an enemy, and his intentions are not good. But Jesus’ love, His sacrifice, and His eternal purpose is for us to live abundantly in spirit, soul, and in body—spiritually, emotionally, relationally, financially, physically, socially, and in every way we can.

It is time to live the abundant life. To rise above the mediocre and the mundane and to step into the full, rich, generous, large, and glorious life Jesus wants us to live. God is in every detail and in every season; yes, even when we don’t understand half of it. When you truly live in the belief that He has designed for you to be blooming wonderful, you can be right in season and trust His reasons.

Let me live in the abundance of this truth: You have given me life and have planted me. You prune me and You enjoy the beauty of Your creation, and all for Your purpose.

About this Plan

Blooming Wonderful

When the seeds of goodness and righteousness start to sprout and spring forth in your life, share the joy of your harvest with others. Make everyone you meet feel their uniqueness and let them know they are special to you. Embrace their differences. It is the beauty of the rose and the gardenia and the tulip that make up a beautiful bouquet. Don’t waste your energy comparing yourself to others.
