Success Strategies That Work!ಮಾದರಿ
Strength and Courage
Moses had died, and it was now up to Joshua to pick up the mantle. He had been the understudy for a while under the training and leadership of Moses, but his calling was beyond serving as second in command!
The time had come for him to take up the leadership mantle and lead, to shine, to exercise faith in God, and to work with what God had deposited inside of him. And in His faithfulness, God promised to be right there with Him, to never leave or abandon him.
Yet, it was clear that Joshua’s reliance on the promise of God was not enough to secure Joshua’s success; rather, he was going to have to:
👉🏽trust God;
👉🏽step out in faith, and into the promises of God;
👉🏽work hard and get his hands dirty; and
👉🏽face battles, challenges and dangerous situations.
As we read and reflect on Joshua's story from the position of grace we are in today, it is a reinforcing reminder that faith without works is dead!
God is calling you today. He doesn’t want you to live in the shadow of His promises for you, or the shadow of those who have conquered and succeeded before you. His desire is that those promises will become your present reality, but you are required to take faith-based actions. In fact, the level of your faith must clearly demonstrate that you truly believe all that He has said about you. This must be supported by you stepping beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone and into the place of complete trust and surrender to God’s will for your life.
You must obliviously follow where He leads, with a knowing that it will all be alright in the end. When your trust in God is without borders and you exercise faith over fear, you display a demonstration of your love for God, and all things will work together for your good, because of this love and because you have been called (and answered) according to God’s plan and purpose.
God readied Joshua for his assignment and calling into and beyond the Promised Land. He gave him the approach and strategy needed to succeed even in the midst of chaos and calamity and in the face of trials and tribulation; that strategy consisted of a three-pronged approach based on strength and courage (bravery).
God told Joshua that strength and courage were the success plan he needed, and with it he will be able to:
- Take charge: He was able to take over the leadership and successfully lead the people into the Promised Land. This involved overtaking and subduing those who were already in the land and defeating the enemies.
- Obey:: God told him that he must obey the law. To be specific this was in reference to the Laws of Moses (these laws were the laws that Moses had received from his time in fellowship with God). Note that the instruction was not to obey some of the laws, but all of the laws. Success would only come by complete obedience to the law and for us, such obedience today is to the word of God.
- Have faith:: Moses had died; the rebellious children of Israel were a difficult bunch to lead, and the enemy was always ready to attack. Things were going to get tough and scary along the way. There would be many challenges along the way, but Joshua was to remain faithful and walk step by step with God. In the same vein, we must also walk with God, by faith, and not by sight.
An important lesson to note on the road to success is that it is important to hear from God. Joshua heard from God and received this strategy for success which helped him to be a success. This three-pronged approach is still valid and as potent as the day God commanded Joshua.
Will You Be Strong and Courageous?
God has marked you out for success. This is His desire for you. When you are successful, you increase your capacity to evangelize on the foundation of your success. God is honored when you stand with Him to lead the people, encouraging His kingdom to come here on earth. When you are obedient to the word of God and when you starve your fear, feed your faith, and demonstrate your trust in God, you will grow in grace and maturity in Christ and He will honor you by making you a success.
Let Us Pray:
Father, thank You that all the solutions to every problem in life is found in You. Thank You because even when I don’t see it You have already mapped out the route to the future, and the road to my success in You.
Help me to trust you beyond what I can see. Help me to be a true kingdom citizen and a transformational leader, leading the people back to You. Help me to be strong and courageous, to be completely obedient Your word, and to act in faith regardless of the fear that I may see or feel.
Thank You Lord for trusting and believing in me. Thank You because You have already won the victory. Thank You because in You and with You success is inevitable. In Jesus’s name. Amen
