Optimal Heart Health With Dr. Bobಮಾದರಿ
What's Causing The Fire?
Has someone ever told you something they thought was in the Bible, and you believed them for many years, but upon growing up in your personal faith walk, you realized it was not correct? For example, there was a time I thought I would only get into heaven if I was a really good person and attend a church service once a week. It’s true, we are told in Psalms 37 to do good, but our salvation comes from inviting Jesus as our Savior, receiving His grace, and building a relationship with Him. That part did not come easily since I had been living by “rules” I thought to be true. It was only when I began to renew my mind, I had a shift in my perspective.
The same misconceptions can be said for various health topics. For instance, did you know cholesterol is an alcohol and not a fat? I have found in my practice that practice members are afraid of the word “cholesterol” without knowing that it has a purpose to help our bodies and not hurt it. One of the best ways to help your cholesterol and heart is to help reduce inflammation (fire) that can be found from eating trans fats (partially hydrogenated oils) and sugar and replacing it with healthy oils like flax, and coconut. Eggs can be another misconception in regards to cholesterol. I encourage eating eggs because their yolks have a component called choline which helps emulsify fat and cholesterol.
As this devotional comes to a close, I pray for physical strength for your heart, and a renewed strength for your spiritual heart as well. Be Blessed!
