Living Changed: Embracing Identityಮಾದರಿ
Embracing Identity in Christ
There’s a difference between knowing what’s written in the Bible and believing it so deeply that it changes how we live our lives. Truly embracing our identity in Christ is what gives us the ability to face trials with confidence. It fills our life with joy, peace, and purpose. It allows us to love ourselves because He loves us. Understanding who we are and whose we are changes everything, but we have to constantly be on guard.
From the moment we begin to believe we’re worthy, loved, and set apart by God, the enemy tries to strip it away. He hates when we anchor our identity in Jesus because it renders him powerless in our lives and causes a ripple effect that spreads hope to others. We can’t let Satan remind us of our past or convince us we can’t change. The Bible says that when we accept Jesus into our hearts, we are a new creation. His grace covers our sin, our shame, and our past. We have to hold tight to the truth that we are His.
It reminds me of a tree in our yard. When it was first planted, the tree needed rebar braces to hold it up and give it strength. As time passed, the tree grew around the rebar, making it impossible to remove the steel. Now, the rebar is just a part of the tree. In the same way, God’s truth strengthens us. If we hold on to it long enough, eventually it becomes part of our identity that can’t be stripped away.
Action Step:
God took the time to carefully create every little detail that makes you who you are. He sees the real you and loves you without conditions. Let that truth soak in. Don’t run from it, hide from it, or try to dismiss it. Ask God to help you believe it and make it an inseparable part of you. When you truly embrace your identity in Christ, you find freedom from the lies that hold you down and confidence to face any trial.
Father God, thank you for directing me to this plan and for helping me start the journey toward placing my identity in you. Please help me see the labels I’m living under for the lies that they are and help me replace them with your truth. Help me to stop comparing myself to others and allowing my negative self-talk to shape my self image. Give me eyes to see myself as you see me- wanted, cherished, lovely, capable, uniquely gifted, and beautifully created. I want to be defined by you and nothing else. I give your truth the authority over my life and ask you to show me how I can use what you’ve given me to grow your kingdom. Thank you for your unconditional love that doesn’t leave me stuck where I am but draws me ever closer to you. I love you and I trust you. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
We pray God used this plan to minister to your heart.
About this Plan
With so many voices telling us who to be, it’s no wonder we struggle with where to place our identity. God doesn’t want us to be defined by our career, marital status, or mistakes. He wants His opinion to be the highest authority in our lives. This six-day plan will help you internalize what the Bible says about who you are and truly embrace your identity in Christ.
