Hallelujahs And Hiccups

DAY 13 OF 14

Hiccups

Has your life been a series of hiccups? Mine sure has. Hiccups are so annoying. No matter how many sips of water you sip it doesn’t make them instantly go away. Sometimes you’re told to hold your breath and try to count to ten, but they still hit ya with an unexpected jerk. Unexpected events happen all the time like a random series of the hiccups. One thing is for certain and that is we will experience hiccups that bring failure, disappointment, uncertainty and broken trust.

It's all part of this journey we call life, but if you’re a child of God, it's the wilderness moments that produce tremendous spiritual growth. Sometimes God will use the wilderness to wean us off our own self-centeredness, self-reliance and self-righteousness so that we can realize that our sufficiency is in Him alone. If you feel like you’re in the wilderness right now, don’t be discouraged, just hold your breath because the wilderness is only for a moment. Like an occasional series of hiccups, God is bringing you out and you will come out of it stronger, wiser and better.

Prayer: God, You knew my end from the beginning and although I feel like I’m in the wilderness, I believe You will lead me to my land of promise and prosperity in You. Thank You for walking with me in my wilderness. I praise You in advance because You are leading me to my destiny in You. In Jesus’ name,  Amen.
