How to Navigate a Storm

DAY 7 OF 7

Day 7 Devotional

Seventh Principle: SPEND DAILY TIMES WITH GOD

We have seen that our Lord Jesus Christ experienced pressures and challenges in His day-to-day. He had a habit that guaranteed Him to be able to deal with each problem in a calm way and always obtaining victory. Mark 1:35 tells us, “The next morning, before dawn, Jesus got up and went to an isolated place to pray.”

Over and over again, we find Him turning away and praying to His Father, seeking intimacy and direction, strength, and encouragement in the SECRET PLACE (as Jesus calls that time He was alone with the Father).

The way Jesus walked on Earth is a clear model for us to follow. One of His most important principles to learn and apply is that He spent time daily with God, took time to strengthen His identity, and exposed His afflictions before the Father. He listened to the voice that guided Him and poured out His heart every day, especially on the most difficult days. This is the key to how Jesus went through the storms; in fact, this last principle is the main one to be able to fulfill all the others.

If we take the daily practice of having a SECRET PLACE WITH THE FATHER on sunny days when the storms of life come, we will have a strong and adequate refuge that we have built to face them.

Why don't we let Jesus walk with us during difficult times? Let us learn from Him and let us walk shoulder to shoulder with the one who has shown that He knows how to overcome every storm.

Let Jesus be the Lord of your life, listen to him through your daily reading of the Bible, learn from Him, and allow Him to guide, help, and save you. Precisely, He is Jesus, our Savior!
