Meet The New You

DAY 6 OF 21

PHASE 2: ASSESS THE GOODS

Becoming New

I used to be the type of person that quickly noticed the “old” in something in order to justify buying a newer version. For example, there was this time when my gears weren’t working properly on my bike. I was all set to kick it to the curb and get a new one, until my husband stepped in and proved that he could fix it. That’s been true about nearly every appliance in our home as well as every curbside find. It’s amazing how a little bit of love and a whole lot of elbow grease can turn a “reject” into something beautifully redeemed. The same is true in God’s economy.

God is about the business of taking the old, broken, left-for-nothing cast-offs and turning them into gloriously redeemed displays of His extravagant love. His elbow grease is simply amazing. He takes what is old and makes it brand new.

He doesn’t throw away the old model and make a new one.

He works with what is already there, because it’s His design, of course.

He simply takes it as it is—yes, He takes us—and infuses it with the fullness of Jesus Christ Friend, God makes us new when we place our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He takes our old lives and redeems it, creating something beautifully new.

He doesn’t replace the old; He remakes it. Rebuilds is. Refinishes it.

So, what does it look like for you to embrace the way God is remaking you today?

Trap and Transform

1. What habits or ways of thinking need do you need to kick to the curb?

2. What from your past is God more than able to redeem?

3. What does it look like for you to invite God into the process of remaking you, from a spiritual perspective?

About this Plan

Meet The New You

When we look to the Word of God as our baseline for how to live, we’ll discover where our thinking needs to change to conform to God’s best for us. That’s exactly what this 21-day journey is all about.
