I’m talking about your body. It’s awesome! An engineer wrote up a bid sheet for one human heart: fluid pump with 75-year expectancy (2.5 billion cycles); no maintenance or lubrication required; power range: .025 -1.0 horsepower; must not exceed 10.5 ounces; must pump 2000 gallons per day; valve operation must exceed 4000 cycles per hour. The engineer could have added that the heart must work in harmony with several other systems and major organ centers, operate without interruption, and respond to every stimulus from sorrow to terror to laughter to lifting.

If God has so perfectly equipped us physically, will He not also equip us spiritually for every eventuality? Too often, we are reduced to despair when confronted with conflicts and disappointments.

Be encouraged. God has built you to take it. He won’t let the temptation or trial exceed the specifications of your soul. Don’t give up. Don’t give in. Don’t despair. The glory of the human body is but a shadow of the glory of the trusting soul.
