Day Three - Listen and Follow
Welcome to our Great Adventurers Devotional - we are so excited to have you following along with us as we journey and look at some of the Great Adventurers in the Bible.
Let's continue our adventure with Joshua and ‘The Battle of Jericho’.
READ:
‘The Battle of Jericho’ in the Beginner's Bible (pages 132-135) or in Joshua 6:1-20.
God spoke to Joshua about what he had to do.
God told Joshua - “March your army around Jericho, with the priests blowing their horns. Do this once a day for six days”.
Joshua listened carefully to God and followed what He said. He did exactly what God told him and his people to do. Joshua knew that God’s plan is always the best plan, so it was important for him to listen to God and follow what He said.
Maybe Joshua did not know what God was going to do to the Walls of Jericho. He trusted God and knew that God was with him.
This was all part of God’s plan for Joshua - “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!”
ASK:
How do you think God is showing you that He is with you?
Maybe you could draw a picture that shows how God is with you.
REMEMBER:
‘Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!”’ (Matthew 19:26)
SAY:
I'm an adventurer. I am bold. I am strong. With the word of the Lord, I will follow. Wherever you lead, I won't stop. I've been set free! Amen!

About this Plan
In the Bible, we see that through ‘Great Adventurers’ God has changed the world around them for good. God can take the seemingly bad things and turn them for good. We will follow in the footsteps of these ‘Great Adventurers’ and see how God, through their boldness, changed the world around them! This week we’re looking at the story of Joshua and our memory verse in Matthew 19:26.
