Love God Greatly: Risen

DAY 10 OF 40

When Paul was arrested and tried, he gave a defense before King Agrippa in Caesarea. Paul’s testimony honored and exemplified the resurrection work of Christ. God had greatly helped Paul, and Paul spoke out of nothing but the goodness and faithfulness of God. Paul’s testimony was the same testimony as that of the prophets, who for centuries had proclaimed the coming of the Messiah who would redeem God’s people.

Paul’s only testimony was the work of Christ. Christ suffered, was dead and buried, and was the first to rise from the dead. After His resurrection, He proclaimed light to both the Jews and the Gentiles. Paul had been so deeply changed by the help he had received from God that he could do nothing but proclaim it to the world. Paul had been changed by the resurrection in the same way we are. He no longer was a slave to sin and death, but he was alive in Christ. We experience this same redemption as we walk with Christ.

Dear God, I am humbled by Your faithfulness. Thank You for making Yourself known through all generations, through Moses and the prophets, through Jesus, and through Paul. Help me to be a testimony and a witness to Your goodness and faithfulness. Amen.
