Resting In Grace

DAY 2 OF 20

My sister was diagnosed with brain cancer. She underwent brain surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation for almost two years to become cancer-free. Praise God! Ironically, the treatments meant to heal left lasting side effects. The six-inch scar on the back of her head (now hidden beneath her hair), along with memory loss and balance issues, are reminders of her battle.

Watching a loved one suffer is excruciating.

But in truth, we all battle a deadly sickness—sin.

We’re not only weak and feeble physically, but also spiritually. Apart from Christ, we’re incapable of living sinless lives. We’re diseased.

Mercifully, there is a cure for both our physical and spiritual ailments—Jesus. He has the power to command all and do all. Nothing can stand against Him. He conquered death and sin.

If we’ve trusted in Jesus for salvation, when our human bodies die, we’ll be reborn into a “glorious body,” like that of our Savior. And we’ll never again be physically or spiritually ill—there is no sin or sickness in heaven.

As Christians, we can face sickness and other difficulties with confidence based on our future in heaven with Jesus.

Because of the hope Christ provides, we can rest securely, knowing our bodies and spirits will ultimately be healed.

What challenges are you currently facing? How does knowing God has amazing things planned for your eternity help you endure with hope and perseverance?

About this Plan

Resting In Grace

Christ's grace has the power to change everything. We don't have to strive, to compete or compare, or question whether or not we measure up. We're enough because Christ in us in enough. The cross of Christ sets us free.
