Part Six - I can do all things
The people of God, the Israelites, lived in the promised land for many years but they had forgotten about God. A bad king from another land ruled over them, so the Israelites asked God for help.
God sent Deborah to help the Israelites. He gave her a plan to defeat the King, to take 10,000 soldiers to the top of the hill and wait. When the Israelites were faced by the King’s army, many of them were scared as they were not as strong as their enemies. Deborah knew the promises of God and trusted him. She told them to go confidently into battle because God was with them; the Israelites obeyed and they won!
Sometimes we can be afraid, and it can stop us from doing things. Maybe you are afraid to tell your friends about Jesus because of what they will say, or you’re afraid of going somewhere new, maybe you’re afraid to pray out loud or lift your hands in worship? Sometimes the things that we are afraid of stop us from doing the things that God wants us to do
Whatever it is that scares you or that you are worried about, you can stand knowing that God is always with you and that He wants the best for you. Knowing that, means that we don’t have to be afraid or anxious about anything!
“I can do all things through Christ because he gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)
Ask:
What are you afraid of?
How can you take a next step to conquer your fear?
Pray:
Dear God, thank you that I don’t need to be afraid or worried about anything because you are always with me. Thank you that I can be bold and courageous just like the Israelites. Thank you that I can do all things because you give me strength. Amen.

About this Plan
We are called to live a life that reflects Jesus and affects those around us. Our prayers, the way we look after other people and how we respond in tough times have the power to create waves in the world around us. In this devotional, for kids aged 4-11 years, we will be looking at Wavemakers in the Bible and how we too can create waves!
