Day 5: I Am the Right Size
If you find yourself worrying, regretting, and fretting about your weight or your physical appearance, here is the thing to remember: God doesn’t see you as a number! Part of the “soul work” of honoring your body is shifting the conversation away from your size and toward the place where you can live truthfully as the healthiest version of yourself—whatever that looks like for you!
I’m grateful for women who are bold enough to stand up and show the world they are comfortable in their skin no matter their dress size! I thank God for women like my sister Goo Goo Atkins, who is full-figured, sassy, and downright gorgeous! She loves and lives for Jesus. She’s bold, smart, and stylish, but it’s her confidence that makes her assured in everything she wears, like seriously everything!
Don’t let the enemy control your life through your weight or your emotions. Bring your struggles and doubts to the Holy Spirit and let Him guide your choices. Food is God’s gift and fuel for the life He has for you.
We are ALL fearfully and wonderfully made, so don’t let your body type or size distract you from your purpose. Grow in faith! Declare what God says about you! Your body is a temple, and you wouldn’t trash your church, would you? Honor the body you have!
I realized that I was wonderful at 118 lbs and living for God, and I was still fantastic when I was 182 lbs! God has to be at the center of your choices and how you treat your body. If you allow Him to guide you, He will direct your ways for your spiritual AND physical decisions. Let us learn how to be better stewards over the bodies He has given us.
