5 Days To A Grumble-Free Home

DAY 5 OF 5

Becoming a thankful person, not a grumbling person, was God’s idea first. And when I worked to finish what I’d started, I was doing so in agreement with God, who desired this outcome for me before I was even aware of it. As Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (nlt).

I won’t start anything unless it is worth finishing, and God won’t either. Remembering this, we can see ourselves always as works in progress. We don’t have to worry about trying to be perfect now, yet we can trust that what God started will be finished on the day we finally get to see Jesus face-to-face.

And because we have lived our lives turning to him, depending on him, and being faithful to become more like him, what we are given now will open the doors to what God will do in us and through us in the future. As Matthew 25:23 says, “The master said, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’ ” (NLT)

I have no doubt that the faithfulness and dedication we all are discovering now will be building blocks for what God wants to do in the future.
