[Psalms] Everything

DAY 6 OF 7

Everything in us

In Roman culture, during the first century, when baby girls were born and unwanted, the parents would take the baby to the outskirts of the city and leave her there. People could hear the baby cry from the city, and two different groups would run out to get the baby. One group would be the owners of the brothels; the second would be the believers in Jesus Christ. Early Christians would run, rescue, and care for that child.

If you look at the end of slavery, you find the church there. Look at the history of the Civil Rights movement in our country and you will find the church. When you see people with the cross in their heart, you will see people who sacrificially care for their brothers and sisters. This care comes from their understanding of this Scripture. You have been knit together by God, therefore, you are valuable.

Where does value come for humans? What makes us different from a cat or a dog? The fingerprint of God. Not only does He love you, He likes you. He created you and has a plan for you. His thoughts about you are as numerous as the grains of sand of the sea. Nobody else thinks of you this much!

Have you heard this phrase? “You wouldn’t worry what people thought of you if you knew how seldom they did.” It is true!

God is telling you, “As the sand of the sea, so are my thoughts are towards you. That’s how much I love you. In the midst of the pain, my thoughts are towards you. In the midst of joy, my thoughts are still towards you. I have thoughts towards you because I have been weaving you together since day one.”

Everything in us is crying out, “I want to be known… please notice something special about me!”

Where does that come from? It comes from a knitting Father, God, who is still thinking about you this very moment. He is so in love with you.

God knows who you are; He sees how special and valuable you are. He has a plan for your life, and He is at work. Trust Him.

About this Plan

[Psalms] Everything

Everything in us is crying out, “I want to be known… please notice something special about me!” God’s knowledge of us is an intimate kind of knowledge. He knows everything about us yet He fully loves us. Experiencing this sort of love frees us from all of our fears and empowers us to follow His guidance—the dreams He has for us, the fingerprint of God on our lives.
