Decision Makingಮಾದರಿ
DAY 7
Introduction
As we conclude this journey through Scripture, let’s take another look at some key points.
· We can trust God unreservedly, knowing that he will guide us along the right path (Proverbs 3:5-6).
· Wisdom is a major asset in being able to choose rightly. So let’s ask the God of all wisdom to make us wise (James 5:1-6).
· Obedience to God’s Word is critical to receiving God’s guidance (Psalm 25:12).
· The light of God’s Word can illuminate the best path forward (Psalm 119:105).
· Mind renewal, though difficult, is necessary to achieve total submission to what God desires for us (Romans 12:2).
· Good advice is valuable and doing the right thing involves right motives (Proverbs 15:22; 21:2-3).
Today we take all our cares to God, knowing that he is near and ready to give us what we need to make the right choices. No, God is not a genie in a lamp standing by to grant us three wishes. But when life presents us with situations that can make us anxious, such as having to make crucial decisions, God’s Word encourages us to wholly lean on him rather than give in to worry and hopelessness.
Pray
Lord God, thank you for being near and always ready to hear my prayer. Help me to trust you with every situation I face and fill me with your peace.
Read
Paul, a prisoner, sparks courage among fellow Christ-followers, telling them to take every situation to God in prayer.
Philippians 4:6-7
Reflect
Choosing to depend on God for guidance and not worry when we are facing challenges can be difficult. While God is not a genie we can manipulate to fulfill our whim and fancy, we are invited to “ask God for what [we] need” (verse 6 GNT)—be it courage to make good decisions, faith to trust God’s leading, or peace amid our storm. The only caveat is that we do it thankfully.
Respond
Have you asked God for what you need as you face the choices in front of you? Go ahead. Ask. Ask for peace to navigate whatever you are facing and remember to do so with a thankful heart.
