Fall Forward: A Journey Of Struggle, Strength And True Forgiveness

DAY 1 OF 5

Life Has Its Ups and Downs

Far too often when life is going well we tend to go, go, go. It is rare that we stop to be still for a moment to rest or just simply reflect on what’s around us. Going non-stop will take a toll on every aspect of your life if you don’t learn to take care of yourself.

Do we take care of ourselves physically prior to the doctor saying we must?

Do we take care of ourselves emotionally by having healthy relationship boundaries?

Do we take care of ourselves mentally by learning despite our age?

Most importantly, do we take care of ourselves spiritually prior to a crisis?

Taking care of ourselves physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually is like having four strong legs on the chair on which we are sitting. If one leg is knocked out from under us, we have three remaining. Life will kick us in the gut; it is not a question of if, but when.

One of the best things we can do to be spiritually prepared is to go to church, read our Bible, and pray.  You might also consider joining a small group in which others who are growing in their relationship with God surround you. You will need the support of others to get you through the difficult times in your life.

Commit to reading God’s Word on a continual basis and taking some time in your day to pray and talk to Him.

Prayer provides a way for us to lay down every worry, and every stressful thought. Praying allows us to sit in our Heavenly Father’s lap as a child of His and allow Him to wrap His arms around us.

About this Plan

Fall Forward: A Journey Of Struggle, Strength And True Forgiveness

Life will kick you in the gut. It’s never a matter of If, but When. Whether a diagnosis, a death, or failure, life will happen. When it does, you have to decide whether to fall down and stay down or to fall forward. This five-day devotional offers a path to true forgiveness and healing. Hope, peace, and wisdom are not a matter of choice, but of survival.
