7 Habits To Develop Spiritual Growth

DAY 5 OF 7

Here’s a “soul workout”! (Habit #5)

Physical exercise is a good thing, a good habit to get into because it helps maintain the body, contributing to the overall balance of this phenomenal machine the Lord has created! I try to exercise regularly, by doing push-ups, for example, or walking, swimming, etc.

However, there’s a type of exercise that’s just as important, one that helps keep a significant part of our beings in good health...counting God’s gifts.

The Bible invites us to “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2)

Another translation says, “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.”

But why? Praising God regularly without forgetting anything He has done enables us to remain in an attitude of thankfulness, of gratitude and humility. It brings us closer to Him.

So, counting God’s gifts is good for your soul. It’s a good morning exercise to practice daily!

Habit #5 is thus: “Praise God for His daily gifts.”

Cultivating a thankful heart will protect it from bitterness and frustration. Thank God every day. Would you like to thank Him with me right now?

“Lord, how can I not thank You? If not only for renewing the breath of life in me this morning? Thank You, my God, for each visible and invisible good thing, past, present, and to come. Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your never failing help. I love You, Jesus! In Your name, amen.”

Thanks for existing!

About this Plan

7 Habits To Develop Spiritual Growth

We all have our little morning habits. We could also call them routines, the first things we do in the morning. Throughout these seven days, I’d like to propose a series about these first moments, these first actions, these first thoughts of our days. We will discover how we can create habits to develop our spiritual growth.
