GOD MAKES IT GROW
I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. So, neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 1 Corinthians 3:6-7
God is saying to you today, “Plant My seed. Water My seed. Nurture My seed. Tend to My seed. Look after My seed so that it can bear fruit for Me.” We are all God’s fellow-workers in His field. We are to plant His seed, His Word, in people’s lives. That’s what He called us to do here on earth.
The beauty about planting seed – and here I’m not talking about the seed of wheat or corn, I’m talking about the seed of the Word of God – and working and tending the fields for Jesus, is that if you get it wrong, God does not condemn you. Even if the quality of our work is tested by fire and could not withstand the heat, we will be saved. Praise God for the blood of Jesus that washed away all sin.
If you’ve sowed the seed, but the seed has fallen along the path, on rocky ground or among the thorns, you can still change it today. You can keep on sowing the seed of the Word of God. Some of your seed will indeed fall on rich and good soil and God will make it Grow. All the Lord Jesus asks of you is to obey His great commission to make disciples of all people. He will do the rest. Are you planting His seed today?
Lord Jesus, thank You for the privilege to be a fellow-worker in Your fields, and for Your promise that if I plant and water the seed, You will make it grow. Amen
