DAY 56 OF 81

LEVITICUS 9-10:
Yesterday in Leviticus, we heard more regulations for the priests (mainly), and then heard the story of the ordination ceremony that Moses performed for Aaron and his sons.

PSALM 14:
Psalm 14 can be classed as a messianic psalm because of v7. (However the messianic nature of that verse is not made clear in all translations.) David shows us what God sees when He looks at this world. And that is why Paul quoted from this psalm in Romans 3.

LUKE 10:
In the second half of Luke 9, Jesus came down from the mountain to find a crowd, and he healed a demon possessed boy. Jesus predicted his death, and talked about the cost for anyone wanting to be his disciple.

Let’s pray together:
O Lord, our God, our sovereign Lord and our Maker: Sometimes we cry out just like David, “How long, O Lord? Won’t You please pay attention to this problem we’re having.” But Lord, You have given us your constant love. You have rescued us through Jesus. Now we can sing to You because You have been so good to us. Jesus also cried out, “How long? How long? How unbelieving you people are!” O Lord, please don’t be exasperated with us. Please help our unbelief. And how wrong we are, Lord, when we think we’re above everyone else. And You take a child and stand him in our midst and say, “The one who is least among you all is the greatest.” Lord, I pray that you would prevent us when we’re tempted to use kingdom power for our own purposes, or to make us seem great or more important. Please forgive us for these times when we attempt to make ourselves look great, instead of You. Lord, You lead, and we will follow. We want to be those who plow with you, and don’t look back. Because we want to be of lasting use for the Kingdom of God, even today.
