Angels For Youಮಾದರಿ
What's your job?
If you look around at the world today, most people have a job. There are teachers, accountants, bus drivers, waiters, and many others. There are a variety of jobs. You may hear the word “job” and think only adults have them. That’s simply not true.
As a teenager, you also have a job. You could work in a restaurant or babysit the neighbor’s kids. Sometimes a job isn’t only when you make money. You have an important job as a daughter, a brother, or a friend.
Angels, which actually mean ‘messengers’ held a very important job around the time of Jesus’s birth. Their job was to bring news from God to His people. In the book of Luke, an angel came to bring a message to the shepherds who were living out in the fields nearby, watching over their flock. They were terrified when the angel of the Lord appeared to them and said, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”
At that moment, the angel had completed the important job God gave to him, to proudly present the birth of the Savior of the world. He delivered the greatest news of all time: a Savior for humanity, one who would save His people from their sins, had been born in Bethlehem!
He completed his job and did it well. Think about the jobs you have. As a son or daughter, are you obeying your parents? As a friend, are you being a good influence? We all have a very important job. It is our decision how well we do with the opportunity given to us.
Over the next few days, we will learn more about the different jobs the angels held.
