Long Life And Prosperity (Happy Birthday)ಮಾದರಿ
Happy New Year, time to realign
Your birthday is a new season. It is the start of your new year here on earth, such that if people were to say Happy New Year such greeting will actually be appropriate. So from me to you, Happy New Year to you.
A New Year is a new season and a time to look back and reflect on the last year and plan ahead for the New Year. What are the things has God done for you in the year past? As you step into the season of this New Year, how aligned are you to where God wants you to be?
Here are some ideas:
Keeping a gratitude journal will help you to be grateful for the amazing things God has done (as you look back), and is doing (as you look forward), so if you don’t have one it’s a good idea to get one today for the year ahead.
Secondly, a new year is a good time to lose weight and become more healthy right? Why not take some time to do a spiritual analysis to help lose the weight (including sins) of the world.
What are the elements of the fruit of the spirit and how do you fair against each one? If this is an assessment you have done before consider how you have grown since the last time and what improvements you need to make.
You can also review the spiritual gifts that God has given you. Taking time to review what they are, how you are using them and whether God is glorified.
Next, what about going to the gym and exercising more regularly? Choose to walk every day with God, to run from every appearance of evil and run to God in reverential fear (worship). Stretch out your life in total and complete surrender to God. It’s a good time to rededicate yourself. And don’t forget prayer walks, add them to your daily routine.
Another popular New Year resolution is to read more books. Which books of the bible have you not read or studied in depth? Which could you return to and read again? Write a list and set yourself a challenge.
Finally, the turn of the New Year is a great time to set some time aside and learn something new. Some learn a language, a skill or something else. Why not learn how to do something that glorifies God. Whether that’s playing an instrument that glorifies God, or learning (memorising) a Scripture a day, or developing your evangelism skills. Find something and do it. Take notes too, these should help keep you on track as you return to review regularly.
And so we have come to the end of this devotion. Happy birthday to you, and may you enjoy long life and prosperity.
