New Mind; New Man!ಮಾದರಿ
A Renewed Mind Aligns You With The Will Of God
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 (NKJV)
I hear the statement all the time, “I don’t know the will of God for my life,” and I have said that often also. However, I recognize that the more you grow in your walk with the Lord the more His will is crystallized to you. One point I want to pound into your mind is “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” So, if you are meditating on the promises of God, reading godly materials, and filling your mind with praise and worship these tools are literally helping to shape and change your thought patterns from negativity to a more positive outlook on life.
According to Strong’s Concordance the Greek word renew is - (Strong’s 342 - anakainósis - (from 303 /aná, "up, completing a process," which intensifies kainō, "make fresh, new"; see 2537 /kainós) – properly, a new development; a renewal, achieved by God's power.” When we meditate on God’s words and promises it has the power to literally change the way we think. The truth about this life is if you are not meditating on God’s word as your source for building your life then your mind is filled with something else and whatever you think the most about will dictate the outcome for your life.
When we conform to the world system of doing things, we will reap the products of that life. For example, the world tells us we must love those who love us and hate those who hate us. If we adapt to this pattern, then our lives would be filled with hatred, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, and lack of joy. However, as we renew our minds with the word of God that says, “Bless those that persecute you and spitefully use you because yours will be the kingdom of God.” This creates a new thinking pattern that releases us from a burden of hate to peace, and that helps us to stay connected to God, and suddenly, you realize that God’s will for you is not to be angry all the time, God’s will for you is to be at peace, God’s will is for you to inherit His kingdom. Dr. Caroline Leaf says this in her book Switch On Your Brain, “As we think, we change the physical nature of our brain. As we consciously direct our thinking, we can wire out toxic patterns of thinking and replace them with healthy thoughts.” Renewing our minds daily with the word of God is imperative if we want to become healthy and bring change to the world.
“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.” – Peace Pilgrim.
