Easter In The Kingdom By Edmound Teoಮಾದರಿ
A Brand New You
What are the implications of the cross for us today? In the Bible the cross is always a place of suffering and death. In a practical sense it means four things: Death to the old life (Rom. 6:6 & 1 Pet. 2:24), death to self (Gal. 2:20), death to the flesh (Gal. 5:24) and death to the world (Gal. 6:14).
The cross is essentially a confrontation with the world. The cross means that the old life is over and we can never go back to it again. It means there is a brand new you, a new creation. A brand new way of living, a Kingdom lifestyle. It means that we make a decisive break with the world and become a citizen of Heaven. To set out to follow Jesus everyday and with Jesus reigning. To die to the world means that the things that used to seem so important, the greed for money, the need to control, the lust for pleasure, the desperate need for the approval of others — no longer rule your life. You live by a new standard and that means saying goodbye to the old way of life. You are experiencing heavenly life on earth!
9 Pray then like this: "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (Matt. 6:9-10)
Those words mean exactly what they say. In Christ, the Kingdom of God is in you and you are experiencing heaven on earth. His heavenly plan is accomplished in your life here on earth, this side of heaven!
Prayer: Dear Father, Thank you for Jesus’ resurrection that I may also be united with Him and set free from my old self. Thank you for bringing Your Kingdom on earth where I can live as my new self in unity with You in a Kingdom lifestyle. The world no longer contaminates me and for this I shout “Your Kingdom come, your will be done!” I’m experiencing heaven on Earth now. In Jesus’ precious and mighty name I pray, Amen.
