Running For Your Lifeಮಾದರಿ
It took many years of studying and reading before I came to this realization: the Bible is about God’s story, not about mine. How little I knew about the race God set out for me. I didn’t know that proper training could have a huge impact on the outcome of my life. It took years before I realized that God was using difficult circumstances, relationships, physical limitations, and my past regrets, along with many other things, to train me for the call He had placed on my life. I fought against everything emotionally and physically difficult in order to make this world—my world—happy and fulfilling. I found out the hard way that it doesn’t work to give my life to Christ AND try to keep it for myself.
I thought I was supposed to choose how I wanted to live and just ask God to do what I couldn’t, which ended up feeling a lot like a game of tug-of-war. On one side was me, trying to do what I wanted, and on the other side was Christ, leading me in His direction. Trust me when I say,
God ALWAYS wins at tug-of-war!
Like our passage today reminds us, discipline is never easy. But I have found life without God’s discipline to be impossible. If we can learn from our difficult circumstances, God can manifest peace and righteousness in our lives.
