Lent Devotional: Restoreಮಾದರಿ
Restore: Radical grace
Are there any areas of your life that you would describe as radical? Or extreme? Or revolutionary?
These are words that, in contemporary Britain at least, can make us uncomfortable. We’re generally wary of anything that strays from the polite status-quo. And there’s nothing necessarily wrong with that.
Except that there is nothing ordinary or mundane about Jesus. He was gentle, not genteel. He was radical; he was extreme; he was, in many ways, a revolutionary. He was tortured and executed for it.
The most radical thing in the universe is God’s grace. It’s a grace that says, “I know everything about you: your darkest secrets, your biggest failures, all the mistakes you have ever made and ever will make. And I love you anyway; I accept you and everything you are; you can approach my throne with confidence.”
Lord Jesus,
I could never thank you enough for your radical gift of grace.
I offer my life to you,
I will follow your heart,
I will shine your light,
I will show your love,
I will walk in your ways.
Help me Lord to never take your grace for granted,
But to live in its glorious beauty every single day.
Amen.
