Ready Set Go! How To Run This Race Called Lifeಮಾದರಿ
I’m not the biggest fan of physical exercise…(and let’s be honest, many of us aren’t). Yet most of us would agree that it’s super important to our health—to our physical, mental and spiritual well being. So I have once again, decided to take up running. And this time (this year) will be different!
I won’t start out sprinting day one and strain my ligament like last time. I won’t be a “know it all” and not listen to my husband asking me, pleading with me, to work my way up to my goal of 5 miles and not on the first day. This time will be different.
There’s a much more important marathon we are all participants in—it’s called LIFE.
What a gift! Each day given should be taken advantage of. And how cool that we get to weigh in and decide the pace, the partners, the direction, the course and how and when we run.
We are in a race to the finish line. And though we don’t know the day or hour, we all finish.
How sad would it be if we finished, never once asking GOD for directions and leadership? And perhaps even sadder—what if we actually did ask GOD for his guidance only to choose our way over His?
Everyone’s race revolves around sharing the good news—that GOD is our hope, strength and life. The “lane” He has called each of us to run in perhaps looks different, but we are all pointing others to the same hope, strength, life and Person—JESUS.
Jesus ran his race really well…perfectly, and we can follow His example. You might be thinking—of course He ran His race well…He’s GOD!
But I also get really inspired (and challenged) every time I read Hebrews 11. It gives us examples of everyday men and women who didn’t do life perfectly, but they inspired kings and nations with their unshakeable faith.
May your race inspire those around you, gleaning all you can from the heroes and she-roes in God’s word.
About this Plan
How many of us have said this year will be different? My prayer is that it really will be. God designed us with a specific purpose. And the life He's given us is meant to be lived pursuing that purpose. Not looking back or standing stagnant, but relentlessly going after Him with passion and expectation. My prayer is that this devotional aids you in that pursuit. Ok, Ready, Set GO!
