Timothy is also warned about turning away from God due to temptation, deceivers, and persecution. He is told that all of these will increase as we near Christ’s return. Paul reminds him that the Bible will keep him on the right path.

We can certainly see that many of the things Paul lists are on the increase. We need the Bible more than ever to be the unchanging standard of what we should believe and how we should act.
