3 Keys to Deep Prayerគំរូ
Key 2: The Holy Spirit Will Help You
Here’s the second key to deep prayer that brings you face-to-face with Jesus:
When you start praying, ask the Holy Spirit to pray through you and intercede for you.
Our key Scripture today, Romans 8:26-27, tells us that God the Holy Spirit intercedes for us in our weakness. What does this mean?
Simply this:
In our humanness, we don’t always know the perfect will of God. However, if we invite Him to do so, the precious Holy Spirit will translate our prayers, pray through us, and pray for us—and His prayers are always perfect.
Therefore, even if we begin to pray imperfectly, when the Holy Spirit helps us, our imperfect prayers become His perfect prayers by the time they reach the Father’s ears (which happens instantly)!
Nearly every time I begin to pray, I pray this promise of Romans 8:26-27 at the beginning of my prayer.
First, I tell the Father that I come to Him in Jesus’ name. But then, I ask the Holy Spirit to pray through me and intercede for me. If I remember to pray this promise first, my prayer time is powerful, fruitful, and brings me into intimate encounter with God.
On the other hand, if I ever forget to pray this promise first, my prayer time feels dry. I can’t focus, don’t know what to say, and don’t feel the Presence of God. That dryness reminds me to go back and ask for the Holy Spirit’s help to pray. And as soon as I do so, the dryness goes away and (with His help) I suddenly find myself in deep prayer before the throne of grace.
Friend, God Himself will help you pray.
All you have to do is ask! When you ask, the Holy Spirit will be your Intercessor and help you enter into deep prayer!
