God Sees Me!គំរូ
An example: God saw Hagar
“So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, ‘You are a God of seeing,’ for she said, ‘Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.’” (Genesis 16:13)
Hagar’s circumstances were hard. She was the slave of Abraham and Sarah. Since this couple was infertile, they decided to use Hagar as a surrogate mother to have a child. Probably Hagar had very little say in this. Others decided the course of her life in a very humiliating and selfish way. But once Hagar turned out to be pregnant, she became proud and looked down upon Sara, who could not have a child of her own. In turn, Sara became angry and humiliated Hagar, who then ran away from home. She ended up stranded in the desert — and there God reached out to her. He saw her.
He saw Hagar when she didn't actually want to be seen by anyone, and He spoke to her.
He saw her difficult situation and heard how badly she was suffering (Genesis 16:11).
He also saw her own wrong and proud attitude, and instructed her to go back and humble herself.
He saw that she needed new courage and hope for the future, and gave her wonderful promises for her yet unborn son.
God sees you, too (as we read in Psalm 139:1-4). He knows what you need: encouragement, reproof, being seen and heard... Do you like the fact that the Lord God always sees you, even when you are not actually searching for Him?
