The Light Shines in the Darknessគំរូ
Living in the light
“Whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” (John 3:21)
If you believe in Jesus, you will have the light of life. You will no longer walk in darkness, but become a light yourself. You will be transformed, and instead of the “works of darkness” you will do “all that is good and right and true” (Ephesians 5:9). Then you have nothing to hide, and therefore no reason to stay away from the light.
Living in the light does not mean that we don’t sin anymore. “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves” (1 John 1:8). Living in the light does not mean that we are able to live perfect lives. But it does mean that we confess our sins, turn away from them and earnestly try to pursue righteousness. Note what this verse from John 3 says: “his works have been carried out in God”. The good things we do, we do by God’s power. His Spirit dwells in us and guides us to do the right thing.
Let’s praise Jesus, who is the Light of the world and who has come into the world to save us.
“You have delivered my soul from death,
yes, my feet from falling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.” (Psalm 56:13)

The apostle John wrote a book about Jesus, “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). This reading plan goes through many Scripture verses, and the first chapters of John’s gospel, to discover who Jesus is.
