Guard your heart
The prince of this world, satan, works tirelessly around the clock, waging war at every opportunity given to him.
Therefore, we are encouraged to guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it flows the issues of life. What we allow into our hearts form our patterns of thinking, and subsequently our behaviour. We dealt with this topic on day 2. Sincerely consider the root of fear in your life.
At times, we have been subconsciously fed lies which seep into our minds. The current climate we live in does not help. We are constantly fed with negativity through social media and news cycles.
All it takes is a trigger in the news, and our way of life can be affected. We sometimes fall into a limiting trap. Where ideas once flourished, ‘fears of recession’ prevents us from stepping out and starting the venture we’ve always dreamed of.
To circumvent fear, we need to be more proactive. What are you feeding yourself? As the scripture says ‘For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.' (Matthew 12:34 NKJV)
Take hold of what you allow in. The disciples all responded to the situation differently. Some ran around the boat helplessly, but one turned to Jesus, and that was the solution.
Action:
Think of three ways you can practically guard your heart against fear. Pray over the identified areas.
