DAY 14 OF 21

Recovery Day 14

Mark 8:23 “Jesus took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village26 Jesus sent him away, saying, “Don’t go back into the village on your way home.”

To see what you have never seen, you have to be ready to go where you have never been. Why did Jesus take this man out of the village? To understand this, we must first ask what was the man’s journey.? Blind people typically need to be familiar with their surroundings to survive. But Jesus took the blind man out of the familiar to the unknown. What this translates to for you and I is, sometimes Jesus would take you into unfamiliar territory and He will ruffle your feathers in order to heal you.

The “village” in this story is symbolic and for some people that village could be a group of friends. For Jesus to help you, he will have to lead you away from them. When God wants to revolutionize a life, He challenges [confronts, deals with] how the thought processes. Sometimes in order to bring the much-needed change, God will confront the behavioural pattern. If the person is typically insensitive and not compassionate to people around him for example, God will have him change from bad behaviour to proper behaviour.

Sometimes when God wants to change your life, He does not just want to confront your thinking, or your behaviour, God will confront your giving. God will stretch you in the area of giving. We must understand that God really does not need anything; the cattle on a thousand hills belong to Him. What He is doing is a work in your heart. He is working on you, changing you, and increasing your capacity. So when God wants to change your life, He changes your “village” and instructs you not to go back there. Sometimes we need to step out of our world in order to experience the real world. There is so much that God wants to take you into. To see what you have never seen, you have to be ready to go where you have never been.

Thought: Miracles happen outside your comfort zone!

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You got me started on this spiritual adventure. Where You lead, I will follow obediently, in Jesus Name. Amen!
