Kingdom Do’s & Don’ts—Disciple Makers Series #7Sample
Ask, Seek, and Knock
After all the “do nots” here is a “do”. The things God wants us to do are really quite simple.
—Ask and keep on asking
—Seek and keep on seeking
—Knock and keep on knocking
These are not there because God wants us to be greedy; they are there because God wants to bless His children. Parents love to give good things to their children—and so does God. Sometimes, the children ask for things that they cannot have—we all did that!! Good parents know when those requests come, and they replace them with the good things they really need. God is the same way. When we get our requests wrong, God gives the good things we really need. Eventually as we grow up we understand why parents do that. They do it because they love their children and want the best for them. God is the same.
So keep asking, seeking and knocking. God loves to release blessing. Keep maturing and learn how to ask for good things. God is so pleased when we learn to do it that way.
Time to Pray
Father, I do not ask enough. Sometimes I forget and sometimes I just do not bother. Both are not good reasons. Today I want to ask more—for good things. Today I want to seek after good things more. Today I want to knock on doors that open up opportunities for good things to be released—for me and for others. Keep reminding me to do this all day I pray. In Jesus’ name Amen.

About this Plan
Matthew writes to God’s people and walks them on a journey that will take them from where they are to be Disciple Makers. This is the seventh of 27 devotional plans walking us through the book of Matthew. Jesus talks about the “do’s and don’ts” of His kingdom. How to sum up the Kingdom: see others like God sees them, and treat them like God treats them.
