Disciplines Of The Kingdom - Disciple Makers Series #6Sample
Take a long, long look at a flower today!
Worry – small faith.
Today that is hitting me right in the face. Issues I need to deal with take much of my time. Sometimes, they consume my thoughts in the day. Surely God will take care of me and my needs today.
Take a long look at a flower today. See its beauty and its intricate design. It will be gone in a few days. In a sense God wastes such beauty because unless you and I looked at it, the beauty of that flower would have gone unnoticed. Many beautiful flowers go unnoticed. Still God makes sure that they are all beautiful. If He creates such beauty to be unnoticed, how much more will He take care of a child He sent His Son to die for?
Time to Pray
Father, today You have a beautiful way of meeting my needs and dealing with my problems. It is as beautiful as the flower that I look at. There are no flaws or defects – just beauty. Take my problems today and solve them in a beautiful manner. Father, I do not want my small faith to get in the way of Your plans for the day – keep me from rushing ahead, falling behind or getting off the path by running after some other plan to solve problems. I just want to walk with You through my day with joy and patience. In Jesus’ name Amen.

About this Plan
Matthew writes to God’s people and walks them on a journey that will take them from where they are to being Disciple Makers. This is the 6th of 27 devotional plans walking us through the book of Matthew. Jesus describes the three disciplines of His Kingdom rules. The three disciplines of Giving, Praying and Fasting are laid out for us. We also begin the “Do’s and Don’ts” of Kingdom living.
