The Fruit of the Spirit: Patience is a fruit of the Spirit
Ever heard the prayer, “Lord, please give me patience, and I want it right now!”? All of us know that feeling--wanting to control everything around us in order to make our agendas happen on our schedules.
That attitude only brings ulcers, of course. If you are a “wannabe” control fanatic like me, you will find delight in hearing from Galatians chapter 5 that one of the fruits of the Spirit is patience. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22,23).
In other words, the Holy Spirit makes it one of his personal goals to help us relax and let God develop his wonderful plans on his timetable. As he is patient with us, we should stop being such perfectionists with other people. Let the Spirit lead! The Fruit of the Spirit: Patience is a fruit of the Spirit
