God’s Personal Gifts

Everyone has personal gifts from the Spirit--skills, aptitudes, talents. All of God’s gifts were given to make the lives of other people better. This process enriches the giver and blesses the receiver.

Passion

Who wants to hang around apathetic people? Not me! The people I most enjoy being with have fire in their belly for something. When the Spirit of the Lord is moving among people, one of the gifts he distributes is passion, the inner burn that wants to change something or grow something for Jesus.

God was once very pleased with a man who had served him well. He told Moses, “Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites; for he was as zealous as I am for my honor among them” (Numbers 25:11). From that day on, God channeled the priestly line through Phinehas’ family.
