Heaven's In Your Routines

DAY 4 OF 5

Warning! Don't Text While Driving

“Don’t text while driving” is one of the most commonly understood warnings. It serves not only the safety of others, but mainly our safety. Yet, in reality we still do it since we may think, “I can still control the vehicle.” Of course, until an accident happens.

These two verses of Scripture from Psalm 19 are a warning, according to David the writer. Yes, a warning.

A warning that this earth is a reminder to us of God’s capability to sustain our outer livelihood. His laws and truth are warnings that God set to sustain our living a life that gains “great reward and cleansing from hidden faults.”

However, similar to other warnings, we principally agree with them but are negligent in obeying them. Those neglects are not caused by an unclear warning set out by nature or God’s Word, but mostly because we cannot see our own mistakes.

Why does that happen? Because we are lost. We get confused about the things we can rely on. Sins lurk in our hearts and draw us away from trusting God to trusting stuff and/or people for our life.

That’s why today, I invite you to pray David’s prayer: Help us to obey Your warnings, Lord. Help us to know the sins I must confess to You. And cleanse me from these hidden faults. Amen.

Enjoy your day following Jesus with all your heart.

Whoever finds God, finds life.
