I'VE GOT THE BLUES: I'M SICK

We all expect to get sick now and then, and that doesn't bother us particularly. But when serious illness strikes, it can turn our lives upside down. Sickness shatters our illusion of control. Major sickness can destroy your savings, your career, your future.

God is there for us when we need Him. When we put our trust in Him, we give Him the chance to make the illness work for us. Once when Jesus' friend Lazarus was seriously ill, everybody around Him was panicking. But in John 11:4, Jesus simply said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." He then demonstrated His power by raising Lazarus from the dead and by raising up a strong faith in those who were there.

Even if you can't see it right away, God will make your life better in some significant way. Even more important, He uses major illness to advance His agenda. Your life becomes a canvas for Him to paint on. Your sickness will be for God's glory.
