DAY 20 OF 21

THINK ABOUT THIS

The Internet has been a great tool for many things. We can go online and find long-lost buddies from high school and college, buy and sell items through auctions, and look up instructions on how to fix just about anything. We can watch silly videos, read the news, and even play games with people on the other side of the globe!
The Internet has also been a source of destruction for many men. Look at the list above. Some of these good things can be turned upside down — can destroy us — if we take a wrong turn. Contacting long-lost friends may include an old girlfriend, jeopardizing the relationship we have right now. Attention to auctions or gaming can become addictive, causing us to spend too much time online and not enough time with family, not to mention draining the bank account. Viewing silly videos can lead us to viewing videos of questionable morals or downright profane and evil content.
How do we avoid the temptations? How do we remain pure and blameless when using technology that has become second nature?
Paul told the Philippians to fix their thoughts on “whatever is true, whatever is noble.” Keeping this in mind can help us to steer clear of the things that bring us down and help us to avoid the myriad of temptations that abound.

Lord, help me to fix my thoughts on things worthy of your praise . . .
